Only look back to see how far you've come.
I decided to set myself challenges every month, in order to progress as a person and to keep me focused and happy.
It’s the best thing I have ever done.
2017 has been pretty incredible so far, and that’s because every decision I have made has been a conscious one. If it fits in with my predetermined goals, I say yes, if it doesn’t, I leave it. What could be easier? When was the last time you sat down and focused on why you were doing the things you do every day? If it fits with your goals, perfect, but if it doesn’t… What conscious decision could you make instead?
The start(ish) of February is a fantastic time to reflect and evaluate on the previous month. Think about where you would have wanted to be right now when you brought in 2017, and recognise if you made it. Remember, resolutions aren’t just for January, so set a new target now if you aren’t quite there. January’s goals for me were clear… I have one learning goal a month and one fitness. As well as that, I’m aiming to try something new every month as a bid to further my horizons in my Dubai bubble (it can get a little claustrophobic over here)
Last month I signed up for a personal trainer and aimed to learn about nutrition. My body is building strength and I can genuinely see muscles where I thought they didn’t exist. In my spare time I am completing a nutrition course to discover more about what I am putting into my body and how it affects my emotional state. So far so good… (if you don’t count the prosecco I’ve been guzzling) My ‘try something new’ this month was a spinning class in a swimming pool and I even ventured to a flex class that helped me to learn the splits. Not only is it fun and keeping me focused, I know I’ve achieved what I wanted to. So, now it’s your turn.

If you’re wanting a little more from 2017, my development is continuing through the power of lists… I have focused on creating lists every week from the start of the year, ones that remind me to be grateful for my achievements and to recognise any downfalls which have allowed me to learn and change to create a better life for myself. Try it and see what you learn…
List what makes you happy right now.

List the best choices you have made this year
And even ones that you intend to make in the next few months
List the experiences that have made you feel you are living life to the fullest
